This is for you - writing your Pride, your way, with hands-on writing exercises & tips on writer’s block, getting started & how not to stop, by award-winning author, Debra Anderson.

Glad Day Bookshop is looking to publish a new collection of works by people who identify as bi or sexually fluid. Come out and help us select pieces and imagine what a collection might look like. FREE.

5:30pm                 LAUNCH – FORGOTTEN VOICES / REMEMBERED VOICES

The Official Launch of the 'Forgotten Voices' research project, showcasing Indigenous 2-Spirit and/or LGBT*QIA homeless youth in Toronto. And the launch of our new 'Remembered Voices' project - a drop-in culture-based program for Indigenous gender, sex and sexuality spectrum youth! This is an official Proud Voices and World Pride event.

 

7pm                       FREE FILM SCREENING – LESBIAN AVENGERS EAT FIRE TOO

This film documents the first year of actions by The Lesbian Avengers, a group of bold and brazen New York City activists fighting for recognition and equal rights for lesbians everywhere. With free popcorn! Kelly Cogswell will be in attendance.

 

8:15pm                 LESBIANS EATING FIRE – A RADICAL REFLECTION

This event is both a book launch and a community sharing. Kelly Cogswell is doing her Canadian launch of 'Eating Fire: My Life As A Lesbian Avenger'. She'll be joined by local long-time Toronto lesbian activists who will share their own stories, followed by a whole group discussion. FREE.

Write On! wants you this and every last Thursday of the month for inspiring, provocative performances by talented QPOC from Toronto and beyond. This series is for ALL queers of colour who want to share and develop their performance work with appreciative audiences. Everyone is welcome to enjoy our performances. Co-hosts DJ/Producer Sikh Knowledge and femme fatale Sedina Fiati. $5 Cover.

A Staged Reading of Unknown Soldier by Jonathan Seinen. Performed by Jeff Ho. A soldier’s exposure of violence and corruption fuel a drama about personal integrity and freedom. Inspired by the actions of Chelsea (formerly Bradley) Manning. FREE.
